LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Leslie Rutledge, the Republican candidate for Arkansas attorney general, had her voter’s registration in Pulaski County canceled by the county clerk.

The clerk’s office confirmed with THV11 News that her registration was canceled Wednesday (Oct. 1). The cancellation has raised questions about whether she is qualified to continue running for the office in next month’s election.

Pulaski County Clerk Larry Crane, a Democrat, said Rutledge was registered to vote in Pulaski County, then moved to Washington, D.C,. where she registered to vote in that jurisdiction. Crane says when she moved back to Pulaski County, she used the wrong form to re-register to vote.

Rutledge released a statement this week, saying in part, “I am legally registered to vote in Pulaski County and have voted legally in four elections during the last 12 months.”

Rutledge is vying for the open attorney general’s seat in the Nov. 4 election against Democrat Nate Steel.
