Todd Gurley was expected to be a favorite for the Heisman Trophy and a first round NFL draft pick next spring but now the Georgia running back’s future is in question.

Gurley was suspended indefinitely on Thursday by the school pending an investigation into an alleged violation of NCAA rules.

“I’m obviously very disappointed,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said in a statement. “The important thing for our team is to turn all our attention toward preparation for Missouri.”

Gurley leads the SEC with 773 yards rushing and has nine total touchdowns this season for the Bulldogs.

Gurley is second in the nation with 194.6 all purpose yards per game.

Georgia will face Arkansas on Oct. 18 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
