[BARRET TOWNSHIP, PA] – A hunt for the man accused of killing a Pennsylvania state trooper on Sep. 12 has prompted authorities to cancel an annual Halloween tradition.
Police said Eric Frein was spotted on Tuesday (Oct. 11). They said they are not leaving that area until he is found.
The city of Barrett Township has decided to postpone its Halloween parade and trick-or-treating. They also cancelled the annual 5K Scarecrow race. Authorities said the decision wasn’t based solely on safety but the logistics of the parade as well. The vote was unanimous.
This year’s parade would have been the town’s 50th celebration.
