VAN BUREN (KFSM) – A power outage hit the Van Buren High School on Tuesday (Oct. 14), an official with Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative said.

The power outage was caused by an electric issue with the school’s equipment. It actually had nothing to do with Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative, according to officials.

The school called the power company and asked them to make some adjustments to the power levels on their end so school employees could work on the high school’s equipment and get the power restored, the official said.

Eventually, school employees fixed the issue. They called Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative back to have them restore power levels to normal, according to the official.
