LITTLE ROCK (KTHV)- The woman charged in the death of a central Arkansas realtor has pleaded not guilty via video arraignment.

THV11’s Macy Jenkins was at the Pulaski County District Court Friday morning (Oct. 31) where she said Crystal Hope Lowery, 41, pleaded not guilty to charges of capital murder and kidnapping. The video arraignment was at the request of her attorney Rick Holliman, who also declined to ask for bond because of the severity of the charges.

Holliman said he’s been Lowery’s attorney since about 10 days after Carter’s body was found. Still, he called her arrest “a surprise.” In talking with THV11, he would not comment on whether or not there will be any kind of joint defense, or talk about anything his client has said about her relationship or communication with her husband, Arron Lewis.

Lewis, was arrested charged with capital murder after Carter’s body was found.

Lowery is still being held at Pulaski County Jail.
