BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – An accidental switch of electronic voting machine left a few Siloam Springs voters with the wrong ballots Tuesday morning, according to the Benton County Election Commission.
Election officials were notified early on Election Day of a problem with electronic ballots in Benton County’s Precinct 9, where about six people voted before officials realized a machine at the location had accidentally been switched with a machine at Precinct 10.
The two ballots were identical except for city board of director races. Those who voted with the wrong ballot were given the opportunity to turn in provisional ballots with the correct board of director races, said Kim Dennison, Benton County election coordinator.
The mistake was caught quickly, so only a few voters were affected, Dennison said.
