WASHINGTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Deputies with the Washington County Detention Center arrested a suspect from a 2007 case accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, authorities say.
Francisco Alverado, 43, of Springdale was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Nov. 6 and faces a charge of rape. He is also being held for another law enforcement agency, according to the jail’s intake report.
On Aug. 22, 2007, authorities with the Child’s Safety Center interviewed a 13-year-old rape victim who said Alverado asked her to be his girlfriend when she was out one day getting ice cream a few months before the interview, according to an arrest report.
On June 19, 2007, Alverado took the victim into a storage closet at an apartment complex his wife managed and raped the 13-year-old girl, the report states.
Authorities were unable to find Alverado, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Dec. 12, 2007, according to the report.
He was later arrested on Nov. 6 and booked into the jail at 1:20 a.m. His first hearing is scheduled for Nov. 7 at 7:45 a.m., the jail’s intake report states.
Alverado’s bond was set at $25,000, according to the jail’s intake report.
