BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Benton County Sheriff Kelly Cradduck said he intends to resume a full-time schedule again now that his wife is beginning to recover from her illness, according to a news release.

Cradduck announced on Oct. 24 he intended to delegate day-to-day duties to Chief Richie Conner due to his wife’s “very serious” medical issues. He did not go into specific details about his wife’s condition, but in a news release on Nov. 7, he said she was tested for cancer, and results of those tests showed she doesn’t have cancer, the release states.

“We are extremely grateful for all of those who prayed for her well-being,” Cradduck said.

He continued, “This was, as anyone could imagine, a very strenuous time for our family, and my hopes are that anyone faced with similar circumstances are allowed to do so with the utmost support and privacy for both them and their family.”

Cradduck said his wife wanted the situation treated with a “very private manner,” but due to a local newspaper printing information about her medical condition, that hope ended, according to the release. After that information was published, Cradduck issued a news release on Oct. 24 attributing his delegation of extra duties to Conner to his wife’s illness and him needing to take some time to help her.
