SPRINGDALE (KFSM) - Firewood is in high demand as the temperatures drop across Northwest Arkansas, and some suppliers are struggling to keep up with the orders.

Ranalli Farms, based out of Springdale, has been selling firewood for more than 40 years. Megan Merrick said her family's farm is one of a few places with firewood available for sale.

"I've heard several people this week say that we are either one of the few people that still do it or a lot of people are out," she said.

There's a variety of firewood at Rannalli Farms, including oak and hickory. But this year, the family said it has been hard to keep up with demand.

"The demand is beating the supply right now, so we are trying to stay up with it," said Norbert Ranalli.

Norbert Ranalli said one reason for the shortage is because people prepared for winter a lot earlier.

"Everybody was trying to beat the rush and buy early, and so we are trying to get caught up again on our wood cutting," he said.
