BENTONVILLE (KFSM)- On Wednesday (Nov. 12), Walmart announced it will be offering five days of Black Friday deals.
The world’s largest retailer will start in-store sales at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27), the same day as last year, when 22 million shoppers headed to Walmart after Turkey Day dinner.
According to a release, Walmart will be cutting prices on everything from electronics to toys and home appliances. Some discounts will be offered at specific times on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and throughout the rest of the weekend.
The strategy aims to keep shoppers calm on a busy shopping day, according to Duncan Mac Naughton, Walmart’s chief merchandising officer.
Walmart will start offering Black Friday deals online Thanksgiving morning, hours before the sales start at stores.
Walmart is not the only retailer starting Black Friday sales on Turkey Day. Kmart plans to started offering deals at 6 a.m. Best Buy, J.C. Penney, Toys R Us will open at 5 p.m. and Kohl’s, Sears, Macy’s and Target will open at 6 p.m.
