WASHINGTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Mercy is making its entrance into Washington County by integrating with a clinic in Springale, according to a news release.

Mercy is a health company that includes a 200-bed hospital in Rogers, an outpatient surgery center in Bentonville and 30 clinic locations in other areas including Bella Vista, Centerton, Lowell and more, the release states.

The health company will be integrating with the Northwest Arkansas Clinic for Families in Springdale at 1110 W. Robinson Ave., according to the release.

Dr. Lawrence Schemel is the family doctor at the clinic, and he got his start as a doctor in 1994, according to the clinic’s website. He got his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the website states.

“I knew I wanted to make this type of move with my practice and felt Mercy provides the strongest combination of primary care, specialty care, and hospital care in Northwest Arkansas,” Schemel said.

Northwest Arkansas Clinic for Families offers a wide range of primary care including sick child care, adult medicine, geriatric care and FAA physicals, according to the release.

The clinic will not be moving as a result of the integration, and all current patients will remain on schedule, the release states. New patients will continue to be accepted by calling 479-751-8440, the release states.
