FORT SMITH (KFSM)- A suspected gang member was arrested Friday (Nov. 14) in Fort Smith after an undercover investigation, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

In recent weeks, undercover detectives from the Department’s Street Crimes Unit purchased cocaine from Jecer Maliq Owens, 22, after receiving information the suspected gang member was selling illegal narcotics, according to police. Fort Smith Police then issued warrants for his arrest on the charge of Delivery of Cocaine.

On Friday, the Street Crimes Unit received information Owens was at a home on North 35th Street where detectives and members of S.W.A.T. arrested him on the delivery warrants, as well as an outstanding aggravated assault warrant, according to police. The aggravated assault warrant was related to an investigation in October, in which a woman claimed Owens attacked her with a knife or box cutter, according to police.

Owens is being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

His Family is very proud of him, and they love him very much. Bad decisions and the temptation for quick money gets a lot of people caught up. Sin is sin, and Jecer, despite his poor choices, is an ambitious young man who will learn from his mistakes and do what he must to reach his potential and find the purpose that God has for him. Free Roo!!!

These kind of people need to be busted and hard. Let him learn the lesson the way his victims have learned, through fear. That is the only thing these vermin understand.
