WINSLOW (KFSM) – A Springdale Hazmat technician was arrested after pushing his wife and child down the stairs on Nov. 23, deputies say.

Aaron Beauford, 36, of Winslow was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Nov. 24 at 2:20 a.m., according to the jail’s intake report. He faces charges of third-degree domestic battery, second-degree assault on a family member, second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and interference with emergency communication, the intake report states.

Deputies were called to a residence on Carter Lane in Winslow in response to a domestic disturbance case at 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to an arrest report.

Beauford’s wife, Heather, 32, told authorities her husband had been drinking, grabbed a knife and started cutting the bed sheets, the report states. After that, he threatened Heather Beauford and her children, the report states.

She told deputies that she and her husband had started fighting around 7:20 p.m., according to the report. Aaron Beauford was lying in their bed when she told him to go sleep in the basement, and he got up mad, saying, “I know how to take care of this,” the report states. It was then that he cut up the bed sheets, according to the arrest report.

“Based on previous experiences, Heather said she felt threatened and knew something was about to happen,” the report states.

Heather Beauford grabbed their one-year-old daughter and her cell phone. She started down the stairs and yelled at their 11-year-old son to run to a neighbor’s house, according to the report.

While on the stairs holding their infant daughter trying to call 911, Heather Beauford was pushed down the steps by her husband, the report states.

Aaron Beauford then grabbed her phone and ran back up the stairs with it, according to the report. Heather Beauford and the two children ran to a neighbor’s home, according to the report.

Bond was set at $2,500 for Aaron Beauford, and he bonded out of jail on Nov. 24 at 4:05 a.m., according to the jail’s intake report. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in West Fork District Court, the arrest report states.
