LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) – A 25-year-old man is dead after being ejected from his truck in an accident that took place in LeFlore County on Nov. 24, authorities say.
Blake Lomon of Pocola was found dead at the scene of an accident around 5 p.m. on Monday, according to an incident report from Oklahoma State Troopers.
Lomon was driving a 2001 Ford pickup truck half of a mile east of Lock and Dam Road and northeast of Spiro when he drove off the road to the left. He then over-corrected, swerved right back across the road, over-corrected again and swerved back off the left side of the road before overturning the truck on its right side, the report states.
At that point, he was ejected from the vehicle an unknown distance and later pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the report.
He had a passenger with him identified as Tori Crawford, 18, of Poteau, the report states. Crawford was also ejected from the vehicle but survived, according to the report.
She was taken to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith and then transferred to another hospital in Oklahoma City, the report states.
Her condition is listed as stable with trunk internal injuries, according to the report.
Seat belts were not in use during the accident, and the weather was clear at the time of the incident, the report states. The road being driven on was a dirt and gravel road, according to the report.
