(KFSM) – The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a notice, saying there is an elevated wildfire risk on Friday (Nov. 28).

Citing gusty south winds and warmer temperatures, the National Weather Service warned of an elevated risk near Siloam Springs and closer to Tulsa. Areas further east like Fayetteville and Fort smith have a limited risk of wildfires, officials say.

According to officials, south winds will be a steady 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Afternoon relative humidity will be 30 to 40 percent, according to officials.

In Fort Smith on Friday, the high will be 63 degrees, while it will be 58 degrees in Fayetteville.
