CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFSM) - Hundreds of people are rolling up their sleeves, and getting a flu shot on Wednesday (Dec.3). It's all part of the mass flu clinic happening in Crawford County.

If you want to get a shot, all you need to being with you is your insurance card.  You fill out a little paperwork then it's time for the shot. Fourteen nurses will be working so long lines shouldn't be an issue.

The vaccine gives you protection of four different flu strands and will keep you healthy throughout the flu season. Flu season reaches its peak between December and February. Workers want to get as many people vaccinated against the flu now.

Health officials recommend anyone over six months old gets vaccinated. "We want to prevent as many people as we can from getting or communicating the flu to others," said Michelle Hammer who is a nurse.

Doors close at 6:00 p.m. There will be another mass flu shot clinic happening Thursday (Dec.4) in Benton County.
