ALMA (KFSM) - People in Alma will be celebrating Christmas Friday night at their annual downtown Christmas parade.

It's a tradition more than 50 years in the making, according to Grand Marshal Dewayne Jones.

Hundreds of people are expected to make it out and watch all of the floats go down Main Street.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the three best decorated floats, and for the two best decorated bicycles.

"We want everyone to come down to the parade," Jones said. "We want everybody to have a good time. We're going to have horses. We're going to have marching bands. We're going to have the ROTC. We're going to have beauty queens. We're going to have politicians. And we're going to have Santa Claus riding on top of the fire truck at the end of the parade, giving out candy to all the kids. So please, please, please come."

The parade starts at 7 p.m.
