FORT SMITH (KFSM)- The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating a burglary and credit card fraud case.
On Nov. 11 officers were called to the 3800 block of Victory Circle where they met the 88-year-old victim, according to a news release. The woman told officers two men came to her home to discuss trimming trees in her backyard, and she took one of them there to take a look at it, the release states.
After the men left, the woman received a phone call from her credit card company questioning a suspicious transaction, and discovered her purse had been taken from her home, according to the release.
Detectives are attempting to identify the man in the photo below as he may have information about the stolen credit card, the release states. Surveillance pictures from the Walmart Supercenter at 2425 Zero St. show the person of interest leaving in a late model Chevrolet Avalanche with temporary tags (also pictured below), according to the release.
