(KFSM) – David Letterman will host his final broadcast of the Late Show on May 20, 2015, according to a news release.

“David Letterman has given to all of us a remarkable legacy of achievement and creative brilliance that will never be forgotten,” said Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of the CBS Corporation. “It’s going to be tough to say goodbye, but I know we will all cherish the shows leading up to Dave’s final broadcast in May.”

The late-night talk show has been hosted by Letterman for 22 years, according to the release.

Letterman announced his retirement on April 3, and it was later decided that Stephen Colbert, host of the Colbert Report, would take his place.

Colbert announced the last date for his show would be on Dec. 18, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.
