FORT SMITH (KFSM)- The Fort Smith Police Department is searching for a person who they said robbed a hotel at gunpoint on Tuesday (Dec. 9).

The robbery happened at the Quality Inn on Burnham Road in Fort Smith, according to police. The hotel's cameras captured the incident, which you can watch in the video above.

"He came in and he just pointed the gun straight at [the employee's] face," said hotel manager Angie Cox. "[He] told him to give him the money."

The video shows the man police identified as the suspect walking into the building armed with a semi-automatic handgun then making off with cash.

"If it was me I would have probably been on the floor crying, but he was calm he did really good for having a gun in his face," Cox said. "On the video he was real calm he did exactly what the guy wanted he didn't try to argue with him or anything.”

Authorities said no injuries were reported.

According to Sergeant Daniel Grubbs, the suspect has a distinct tattoo on his left forearm and could be connected to other robberies.

"[Thursday (Dec. 11)] night just before 8 o'clock, we received a call from the Park Mini-Mart [at] 3601 Park Ave. for an attempted robbery," Grubbs said. "A man entered the store demanding money with a black and white bandana across his face."

Grubbs said officers responded to an aggravated robbery at El Super Taco on the 2100 block of Grand Ave. less than an hour later.

"This man matched the description [of the man] at the hotel," Grubbs said.

If you have any information about the suspect in any of these crimes, call River Valley Crime Stoppers at 78-CRIME.
