SPRINGDALE (KFSM)- An SUV crashed into the porch of a Springdale home Friday (Dec. 19) just before 5 p.m., according to the Springdale Police Department.
Police said the SUV flipped into the porch of a house located at 6384 N. Tall Oaks Loop in the Har-Ber subdivision and the porch has collapsed.
The driver was a 65-year-old man, who was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center, according to police. The extend of his injuries is unknown.
The homeowners, David and Kendra Waind, said they were in the garage getting ready to leave for a holiday trip with their children when the accident happened. No one at the home was injured.
"We were more concerned about the people than the house," said Kendra Waind.
Gina Franzkie lives next door. She said she watched the porch collapse on top of the SUV while the driver was still inside.
"It was so loud," she said. "It wasn't just a crash, it was a series of noises."
The Wainds said they have contacted their insurance company.
"It's just a house," Kendra Waind said. "We will get it fixed."
The Wainds said they're happy the driver of the SUV made it out alive.
"We're just glad that everyone is fine," said David Waind.
"It's a Merry Christmas if we have each other," his wife added. "It's more than a house."
