Portis Leads Arkansas In North Little Rock

Little Rock native ties career high with 24 points in front of central Arkansas crowd

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) - It was a homecoming of sorts for Bobby Portis and he took full advantage.

The Arkansas forward tied his career high with 24 points and added nine rebounds as the Razorbacks ran past Southeast Missouri State, 84-67, at Verizon Arena.

Portis wasted little time impressing central Arkansas as he poured in 13 first half points and helped the Razorbacks open up a 45-28 lead at intermission.

Michael Qualls overcome early turnover issues to finish with 15 points while Anthlon Bell added 12 for the Hogs. The Redhawks were led by Jarekious Bradley who finished with 17 points.

The game against SEMO kicked off a four game stretch for Arkansas that pits the Razorbacks against inferior opponents heading into the January 6 date at Georgia in the SEC opener.

The Redhawks struggled from the floor, hitting just 41 percent, and never got going from beyond the 3-point line as they finished just 3-of-16 (18 percent).

Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena on Monday as they host Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the final game before Christmas.
