FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Some families in the River Valley spent the last few hours of Christmas enjoying holiday lights.

"We're loving this whole park," Makayla Hughes said Thursday (Dec. 25).

Makayla Hughes and her family spent the evening at Creekmore Park in Fort Smith.

"It's beautiful and it's fun,” she said.

"[I’m] having fun with my mom my dad and my sisters,” her brother James Hughes said.

They said it's the perfect way to end a wonderful Christmas.

"I got to open presents and spend time with my family and it's Jesus' birthday, and Jesus is the best part of my life,”Juwanna Hughes said.

Jeff Castling and his two daughters have made coming to Creekmore Park for Christmas a holiday tradition.

"Just something we started doing. And they enjoy it,” Castling said.

"There's not very many lights that we go to see. So we just come out here and look at all the pretty lights that Creekmore Park puts out,” Candice Castling said.

The lights feature Santa Claus, angels and Christmas trees.

“We have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” Makayla said.

The train at the park will start up again Friday (Dec. 26) and run through New Year’s Eve at normal hours.
