FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- The day after Christmas: time to return gifts, look for deals and use gift cards.

"A lot of people are getting into their new smart phones this year. And a lot of people are coming in that got smart phones that just want cases and everything for it,” Best Buy employee Tim Ewing said.

“And then a lot of people have gift cards that they just want to spend toward that new smart phone."

Best Buy is marking down items that have been opened and returned.

"Anything that customers have returned that our Geek Squad has verified is good, and have put back out on the floor and we can sell it to you guys at a really good rate,” Ewing said.

While some stores are busy with exchanges and returns, others are offering major end-of-the-year discounts.

"I got some short sleeve shirts for like seven bucks and another one for 10,” Jon Morris said.

Morris is taking advantage of Old Navy's holiday sale, which includes discounts up to 75 percent off of everything in the store.

"I found a couple pretty good deals. I’m getting some workout clothes because January is around the corner, and [I’m] trying to work of some of those Christmas goodies,” Morris said.

Some people, like Jillian Myers, are out looking for something to use their gift cards on.

"I'm going to go look. If there are a lot of people there, I might just save it,” Myers said.

“This is definitely Black Friday Part Two. It's been so busy all day. People have been lined up since 7 a.m. 7 a.m. bright and early,” Tiffany Day said.

The National Retail Federation expects 31 billion dollars in gift card sales this year.

The deep discounts at Old Navy last through Sunday. At target, a clearance sale that let's shoppers take an extra 20 percent off clothes, shoes and accessories also runs through Sunday.
