ROGERS (KFSM) – Police say a Rogers man was killed shortly after midnight early Thursday morning when his car ran off the road and struck a power pole. Investigators believe his death was from a medical condition and not from the collision.

William J. Curry, 71, was driving his 2013 Chevrolet Equinox westbound on West Walnut Street at 12:35 a.m. when his vehicle left the south side of the road and struck a Southwestern Electric Power Company pole and other SWEPCO and Source Gas utilities, police said.

Emergency responders transported Curry to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, where he was pronounced dead. Police said they believe Curry’s death was caused by a medical condition and not the collision. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
