CRAIG COUNTY, Okla. – Two children from Gravette are recovering Friday morning (Jan. 2) after being involved in an accident in Oklahoma.

The accident happened on an icy bridge  in Craig County Thursday night (Jan. 1) around 8:30 p.m., authorities said.

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the driver Rebeckah Myers, 55, from Vinita, Oklahoma was traveling east bound on an icy bridge, when her Ford Pickup truck lost control and hit another vehicle.

There were five kids, between ages 9 and 16, in the truck when the accident happened. Myers and all of the children were taken to area hospitals  by ambulance with injuries.

Two of the children hospitalized, a 9-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, were from Gravette. The boy was admitted at Craig General Hospital with trunk external injuries, authorities said. The girl was admitted at the same hospital, with both head and trunk external injuries.

Myers remains in fair condition at Craig General Hospital with head and trunk external injuries Friday morning, troopers said.

All of the children were treated and released overnight, authorities said.

The driver of the other car involved in the accident, Sheridan Clark, 19, from Vinita, Oklahoma, was also hospitalized. She was treated for leg injuries and was released overnight, authorities said.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing their seat belt at the time, authorities said.

No tickets were issued.
