WALDRON (KFSM) - People came together in Waldron on Saturday (Jan. 3) to rally for law enforcement officers.
The rally started at 10 a.m. on Saturday along Main Street in Waldron.
People dressed in blue and held signs in support of police officers. Organizers said they wanted to bring awareness to all of the great things law enforcement does on a daily basis for their community.
"We created this event, because of the recent increase in police violence that has been happening to our officers," said Kristen Mack, event organizer. "We feel like it's really important that people see that our officers are not just police officers, that they have families and they do everything they can to help protect our communities."
The event was held in response to recent anti-police demonstrations and the killings of two New York police officers.
