FORT SMITH  (KFSM) – A driver was booked into the Sebastian County jail on Sunday (Jan. 25th) facing several accusations in a car accident that injured a pregnant woman. The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office released information to 5NEWS claiming she was driving while intoxicated.

Deputies are pursuing several charges against Shannon Yvette Williams including DWI, reckless driving, and endangering the welfare of a minor.  The car wreck happened at the intersection of North O and 32nd street in Fort Smith, according to police.

Williams was arrested at the scene initially on suspicion of DWI, according to police. The victim was pregnant and had to be transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center after complaining of stomach and neck pain.

Williams bond is set at $2,750, and she’s set to see a Sebastian County Judge on Tuesday (Jan. 27th).
