FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – There may be changes coming to the college football playoff in the coming years but the chairman of the selection committee will remain the same heading into the second year of the format.
Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long will remain as the committee’s chair after being re-elected for the 2015-16 season.
“Jeff has been a terrific chair, and I am delighted that the committee elected him to serve again,” college football playoff executive director Bill Hancock said via Twitter.
Long headed the committee that chose the field of four for the first ever college football playoff as well as released a weekly poll of their top 25 over the final half of the season.
The committee moved Ohio State into the final four during the final poll after they won the Big Ten championship game. The Buckeyes leaped over TCU in the final rankings, causing some controversy aimed at the committee. Ohio State went on to beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl then knocked off Oregon to win the National Championship.
