Poteau Teen Listed In Good Condition After His Car Hits Deer

Man Hits Deer

LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) – A teenager from Poteau is recovering this morning (Jan. 31st) at the Washington Regional Medical Center. He drove his car into a utility pole after striking a deer, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A news release states Noel Smith, 18, hit the deer while traveling westbound on a country road two miles west of Poteau. Following the accident, he was transferred to Fayetteville where Smith is undergoing treatment for head trauma at Washington Regional, according to the release.

It also states his air bags deployed and he was wearing a seat belt.
