Bentonville (KFSM) – Horses for Healing is reaching out to the local community for volunteers to help make a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs. The next session begins Tuesday, February 17th. Sessions are held Monday through Friday for 6 weeks.

Horses for Healing provides therapeutic riding sessions to children with special needs which helps them grow physically, mentally and emotionally. Oftentimes, children achieve breakthroughs in the saddle that traditional therapies have not been able to accomplish.

Volunteer duties include helping the children make horse-related crafts in a classroom setting and walking alongside the children as they ride.

Volunteer orientation class will be held two mornings from 9:00 A.M. until Noon tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 4) and the same time on Thursday (Feb. 5).

Two evening classes will also be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. today (Feb. 3) and Friday (Feb. 6).

New volunteers must attend only one of these classes. Makeup days are available, and no horse experience is required.
