Curry, Har-Ber Duo Lead Way To FCS Scholarships

Area players sign to play with Football Championship Subdivision schools

Five local players signed with the University of Arkansas but there were plenty of area players that will be playing at the division I level not for the Razorbacks.

Northside running back Justin Curry kept the tradition of playing division I football in the family going as he signed with Samford and he said the choice was a simple one thanks to the fact the Bulldogs run the same scheme as he did with the Grizzlies. Curry rushed for 819 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior season at Northside.

Curry's teammate with the Grizzlies, defensive tackle Kylin Washington signed with Eastern Illinois on Wednesday and joins a team that was in the FCS national championship game last season.

Central Arkansas continued their trend of recruiting the area as Shiloh Christian's Adler Goode and Har-Ber's Quintin Chastain and Rickey Dobbins each signed with the Bears. Dobbins recorded 40 tackles and three sacks last season for the Wildcats while Goode guided the Saints high scoring attack with 46 catches for 744 yards and six touchdowns.
