The dream of playing in the College Football Playoff is alive and well for high school athletes and more than a handful signed to pursue that dream on Wednesday.

Spiro’s McKinley Whitfield turned down offers from the likes of Minnesota and Louisville to stay close to home as he signed with Tulsa. Whitfield is expected to start his career with the Golden Hurricane at receiver but said he could see time on both sides of the ball.

The armed forces football teams will get a boost from Northwest Arkansas talent as Air Force added both Heritage's Joey Saucier and Betonville's Mitch Williams. The Army Black Knights signed Bentonville's Harrison Rooney and Fayetteville's Damani Carter while Bentonville kicker Bennett Moehring will play for the Naval Academy.

Siloam Springs running back Parker Baldwin gave defenses fits over the past few seasons now teams in the Mountain West Conference will try to slow him down as he signed with San Diego State.

Bentonville sent players to Arkansas State (Javier Carbonelle) and Vanderbilt (Ean Pfeifer) as well.
