Deputies Make Drug Arrest On Way Back From Drug-Investigation Class

SCOTT COUNTY (KFSM) – Three Scott County deputies arrested a couple on suspicion of drug charges during a traffic stop, as the deputies were on the way back from a criminal justice class in Little Rock.

Roy “Bo” Rogers and Sonja Barton were arrested Thursday (Feb. 5) on suspicion of several felony drug charges and booked into the Scott County Detention Center, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Three deputies who attended a Criminal Justice Institute class on drug investigations and searches earlier in the day stopped the suspects’ vehicle on Arkansas 80 in Waldron on the way back from the class.

During the traffic stop, the deputies discovered methamphetamine, paraphernalia, marijuana and other suspected illegal contraband, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects remain in jail in lieu of bond.
