Ozark Girls Use Teamwork To Win

Ozark girls are using them teamwork to keep winning in the 4A conference.

OZARK (KFSM) - The Ozark girls basketball team has been nothing but net. The Lady Hillbillies are 12-0 in the 4A conference and they show no signs of stopping.

"We've been playing really well," senior point guard Kylie Ladd said. "Been playing really well together, playing really well in the full court and in the half court. I mean it's been pretty awesome. Pretty good senior year."

Their only three losses on the season have come from 7A teams. Although Ozark made a post season appearance last year, it's been awhile since there's been a group like these girls.

"I'd say probably back at the turn of the century, around 2000, we had a group that was really well balanced a lot like this group," coach Bret Nagel said.

There's one thing that has made this team different.

"They're really close really tight knight. Hard working group," Nagel said.

"Teamwork wins championships," senior post forward Olivia Melton said. "Everyone has a great attitude, and it's fun to work with everyone. We get along great."

"Being unselfish and playing together," Ladd said.

Kylie Ladd leads the Lady Hillbillies. Ladd has signed with Arkansas State University to continue playing basketball, and will be enrolling in the fall.

"Oh man. I played a lot of AAU over the summer just to be able to do that. So it was pretty great. A great accomplishment for me in my life," Ladd said.

It's also something Coach Nagel says is a benefit for all of Ozark.

"It helps all of our kids all through our programs be able to see what you're trying to work for and accomplish is definitely achievable here," Nagel said.

But right now, these girls are focusing on finishing out the rest of their season on top.
