FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – The Fayetteville Police Department arrested a 12-year-old student after a bomb threat was found at McNair Middle School in Fayetteville on  Friday (Feb. 13), police said.

According to police, the suspect faces a charge of communicating a false alarm.

Students were evacuated after a bomb threat was found written on a bathroom stall, according to police.

The threat was discovered shortly after noon at the school on East Mission Boulevard, officials said.

In a text, Alan Wilbourn, Fayetteville Public Schools spokesman, said students were evacuated “per procedure” after the “potentially threatening message” was found.

“We do not believe the students are in any danger, but we take every threat seriously,” Wilbourn said in the text.

The all-clear was issued about an hour after the threat was discovered, Wilbourn later told 5NEWS.

Students also were evacuated in January from McNair after bomb threat.
