Three-time Grammy Award winner Michael W. Smith performed in Ft. Smith Sunday night, and the contemporary Christian singer gave 5NEWS an exclusive interview before the concert at Grand Avenue Baptist Church
This is part of his Sovereign World Tour which includes performances in Spain, South Africa and Ukraine.
Smith talked about his family, his career, the challenges of surviving success, filming scenes for "90 Minutes in Heaven," a film starring Kate Bosworth and Hayden Christensen, and the "Elvis Out" which was the codename for his plan to hit the road after Sunday's concert, in light of the approaching winter weather.
"An Elvis out is like when the show's over, we're getting on the bus and see if we can beat it home. And we'll be safe. We've got a great group of guys on the bus, and we've
got a lot of people praying for us. I think we're going to be okay," Smith said confidently.
Smith and his crew were headed home to Nashville, which was also expecting snow and ice.
