ROGERS (KFSM) – An Arkansas Game and Fish officer rescued an owl tangled in fishing line on Friday morning (Feb. 20).
While authorities were working an incident where an SUV drove into Lake Atalanta in Rogers, ultimately leaving a 17-year-old dead, someone noticed an owl tangled in a tree, its wing tied with fishing line.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission was contacted, and an officer was able to free the owl (pictured below). The owl was taken to a local veterinarian for an examination.
A representative with the HAWK Center in Russellville identified the bird as a Great Horned Owl and said they often have little owlets in their nests during this time of the year.
