FORT SMITH (KFSM)- A scam targeting the elderly has appeared in the River Valley.
The phone calls are made by a company that claims to be Life Alert, which is an alert system meant to protect seniors during a home emergency.

Those who've received phone calls from the scammers can formally file a complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General using the consumer complaint section or by calling the Attorney General's office.
