FORT SMITH (KFSM) - Officers with Fort Smith Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a Fort Smith gas station at gunpoint early Thursday morning (Feb. 26).

The robbery happened at the Jet-Away on 3638 Midland Blvd. around 2:20 a.m., said Sgt. Dewey Young with Fort Smith police.

"The suspect came in, demanded money from the clerk and showed [her] his gun," Young said.

The clerk told officers on scene that the suspect then took off on-foot heading north toward Spradling Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white man with a slender build, about 5"11. He was wearing a hooded white sweatshirt, blue jeans and covered his face with a bandana at the time of the robbery. He is considered armed and dangerous at this time, Young said.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call Fort Smith police or the River Valley Crimestoppers at 78-CRIME.
