A fast moving system in the mid-levels continues to press across the area Friday afternoon and evening. Ground temperatures are colder than the last time it snowed so it's likely going to stick to roads, bridges, & overpasses easier than last time.

Expect travel delays in the Fort Smith area at drive time.

Snow accumulations will be minimally and generally around 1". Locally higher amounts will be possible in SE Oklahoma & SW Arkansas.

This system will exit around 8 or 9pm and no additional snow is expected overnight.

Here is a quick timeline on what to expect:

At 5pm, Snow will continue to advance into Western Arkansas with the heaviest still in SE Oklahoma. There will likely be some light snow flurries or light snow in NWA at this time. Bridges and overpasses will become slick in spots.

At 6pm, the intensity of the snow starts to lessen as the system weaken and begins to leave the area.

By 8pm, only a few flurries will remain and little additional accumulation will occur. Due to the cold airmass, bridges and overpasses will likely continue to be slick.
