VAN BUREN (KFSM) – The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced Friday (Feb. 27) its latest $1 million winner is a man from Van Buren.
Lottery officials said Driton Krasniqi bought his winning ticket at the Flash Market Store in Van Buren. It happens to be across the street from Frank’s Italian Restaurant & Grill, where Krasniqi serves as the general manager. He won the $1 million prize from a $20 Arkansas Fifth Anniversary Millions scratch-off ticket.
Tammy Busbee has worked at the gas station where the winning ticket was sold. She said restaurant employees buy lottery tickets all the time, often spending $300 at a time, for a pack of 15.
“You know the odds are in their favor eventually I guess,” Busbee said.
A lottery spokesman said Krasniqi plans to use his winnings to invest in his future.
“Congratulations to him,” Jeff Rickets, restaurant customer said. “I hope he spends it wisely.”
Flash Market employees said their company will receive one-percent of the winner’s earnings.
