Five Arrested In Benton County Meth Case

BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Five people were arrested in a Benton County meth case on Feb. 25, deputies say.

On Feb. 25, deputies were sent to a home at 22230 West Highway 102 in Benton County to conduct a “knock-and-talk” investigation. When they arrived, they spoke with a man identified as David Bartlett in the front yard of the residence, according to an arrest report.

Deputies said the man asked if he could have a cigarette and told authorities he smoked marijuana but did not have any with him at that time.

Eight trash bags were found in the driveway, and deputies asked if any meth lab trash was inside. Bartlett said he burned most of it, but there were still bottles in the trash bags, according to deputies.

Bartlett then told authorities there were four adults (not counting himself) and two children inside the house, according to the report.

Deputies said a search warrant was executed on the residence, and everyone came outside. One man came out and dropped a muscle relaxer pill in the mud, then stood on it in an attempt to conceal it, the report states. It also states another man came outside and told authorities he had three syringes in his bedroom.

Five people were taken into custody on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, the report states. They were identified as:

  • David L. Bartlett (bond set at $15,000)
  • Jaime Bartlett (bond set at $5,000)
  • Cindy Yeager (bond set at $5,000)
  • Jeremiah E. Devon (bond set at $7,500)
  • David Stubblefield (bond set at $7,500)

The Department of Human services told authorities they would take custody of the two children, according to the report.

Bartlett was informed about the search warrant for the residence and a nearby shed. Deputies said he warned them that he “had one cooking” and did not want them to get hurt.

Two detectives went inside, finding an active meth lab, the report states. The lab was dismantled and disposed of by authorities, deputies said.

Detectives also found a red bag containing nine syringes, one spoon, one marijuana pipe and one Clonazepam pill, the report states.

All five suspects face charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacturing meth, deputies said. They are all scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
