GREENLAND (KFSM) -A Greenland home is damaged after a fire Thursday morning (Mar. 5), according to firefighters on scene.

The fire started inside the garage at a home on Wilson Street around 7:30 a.m., according to city officials.

One man was inside the home when the fire started. He and his three dogs made it out of the home safely.

Greenland, West Fork and Fayetteville Fire crews all responded and worked to get the flames under control.

The garage and a truck inside both burned, firefighters said. The house itself only had smoke damage in the fire.

Firefighters said they believe heating pads were what caught fire; however, the official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
