FORT SMITH (KFSM) — If you’re looking for a new furry friend, you’re in luck!

The Sebastian County Humane Society is holding an event all week (Mar. 9th-14th) called “Adopt a Big Dog.”

Organizers say that all large dogs, including many medium sized dogs, will be half-price and will only cost $50 during this event. This fee also pays for the dog to get spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and receive basic vaccinations as well as heartworm tests.

There is a large variety of breeds to choose from. Many are Pit or Labrador mixes, but there are also German Shepherds and large-breed Terriers.

If there are two dogs in one pin together and you decide you want both, organizers say that’s not a problem. The cost will remain at $50 for both dogs with the half-off special.

The Sebastian County Humane Society hopes that this event will give the larger dogs a chance to find a forever home.

You can reach the Sebastian County Humane Society at (479) 783-4395. They’re located at 3800 Kelley Highway in Fort Smith and are open Monday though Saturday, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
