Lady Panthers Punch Ticket To State Finals

Siloam Springs battled through the 6A state tournament Tuesday to reach the state finals.

SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) - It was a long road for the Siloam Springs Lady Panthers to get to the 6A state title game, but Tuesday they did it.

"I thought we showed good courage battling through adversity," Siloam Springs coach Timothy Rippy said. "In the first half we got down eight or nine, and just stayed the course and stayed with the game plan. We did a good job of getting the ball inside in the second half. Can't say enough about our kids playing hard, rebounding hard, and making free throws down in the end."

The Lady Panthers were the last team to make it into the tournament, and had to battle through all three rounds. During the first quarter against Parkview, things weren't looking good for Siloam Springs.

"We just told each other not to give up and that's exactly what we did," senior forward Bailey Cameron said.

It wasn't until the third quarter they took over and didn't look back.

"It's crazy. It's so exhilarating. It's just awesome," Cameron said.

They'll face Greenwood in the finals, who they've already lost twice to this year. So how confident are they for Friday?

"That's a good question. You'll have to ask our players. I'm very confident if we play our best game we can compete and have an opportunity. They just have to believe it too," Rippy said.

These girls believe.
