FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - 77 motorcyclists from across the state made their way to Bentonville Saturday (March 21) to memorialize a veteran who was killed in a hit-and-run accident.

Aron Romero, a veteran and motorcycle enthusiast from Centerton, lost his life on Tuesday (March 17) morning in a motorcycle accident.

"We showed up to show the family, and the community, the somebody cares," said Dwayne Uselton, senior captain for the Patriot Riders of Arkansas. "It's America. We are doing something good, and we come together.”

Uselton, and other bikers, gathered at the intersection where Romero was hit, for a memorial.

Uselton says he never knew Romero, but still wanted to be part of the memorial.

"Maybe it will give the family some solace in the loss," Uselton said. "One of a soldier’s worst fears is dying and being forgotten. By showing up, and this being recorded, people won't forget. It is going to be remembered. And he will be remembered."

The Patriot Riders say they have offered to participate in the funeral precession, and are awaiting the family's decision.
