FORT SMITH (KFSM) – The Fort Smith Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday (March 24) accused of shooting at the Pho Vietnam restaurant in the 2200 block of Rogers Avenue, according to a news release.

Knighe T. Rhoden was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center and faces charges of terroristic act and felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

Police said the shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday night (March 24).

The owner Erick Nguyen and his wife said they were inside Pho Vietnam Restaurant when they heard gunshots. He was able to get to a window safely where he saw a black man, dressed in white clothing, firing off a gun.

Nguyen told police the suspect then left the scene on foot.

When first responders arrived, they found four bullet holes in the windows at the business, according to the incident report. There was another bullet hole in the ceiling, according to the owner.

Security footage from Northside High School showed the shooting suspect fleeing from the area to a nearby boarding home in the 200 block of North 22nd Street, police said.

Police went to the house and spoke with Rhoden. He was later arrested, the release states.

“A .22 cal. revolver believed to have been used in the shooting was seized from Rhoden’s apartment,” police said.

No bond has been set for the suspect, according to authorities.
