Multi-Million Dollar Trail To Be Built In Fort Smith

FORT SMITH (KFSM)- The Fort Smith Parks and Recreations department will break ground on a muliti-million dollar trail Tuesday (March 31).

According to a news release from the department the trail is 1.6 miles long and named the Greg Smith Riverwalk.

The trail was funded through a $1 million dollar grant and a voter approved sales tax, according to the release.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the project site north of the River Park Events Building.

Parking is available at 121 River Front Drive.

The event is at 3 p.m.

    I wonder which elected official or business person who had knowledge. Bought the land and then sold it to the city for a nice profit out of the Million. It’s happed before along the riverfront, so I’ve heard.
