FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – The University of Arkansas named an interim chancellor on Thursday (April 2), officials say.
Dan Ferritor will take over the position after Chancellor G. David Gearhart retires on July 31, according to a news release.
Ferritor has been the vice president of learning technologies for the University of Arkansas for the last two years and served as the U of A chancellor from 1986 to 1997.
In total, Ferritor has been with the university for 32 years, the release states.
“I feel very lucky to have had someone with Dr. Ferritor’s experience willing to come back and take on this challenge while we actively search for the campus’s next chancellor,” University of Arkansas System President Don Bobbitt said.
“I am excited and honored to have been asked to serve as interim chancellor to act as a bridge between a proven leader and our next chancellor,” Ferritor said.
